  • Copper Canyon Press Copper Canyon publishes poetry exclusively and has established an international reputation for its commitment to its authors, editorial acumen, and dedication to expanding the audience of poetry.
  • Graywolf Press A commitment to quality, and a willingness to embrace or invent new models, has kept Graywolf at the forefront of the small press movement. Today, Graywolf is considered one of the nation's leading nonprofit literary publishers.
  • McSweeney's In its first eighteen months, McSweeney's Books published eight books, including novels by Jonathan Lethem and Stephen Dixon, the stories of Lydia Davis and Ben Greenman, and the illustrated biblical remakings of David Byrne. The publisher also distributes a quarterly collection of fiction. Web site is chock full of good reads.
  • Oberlin College Press is a nonprofit literary press based at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. The overall goal of the press, staffed mostly by poets who volunteer their time and student interns who wish to learn about all aspects of publishing, is to produce a periodical of high standing and notable integrity, along with books of superlative quality, with respect to design as well as literary excellence and originality. At the same time, the press strives for affordability and wide availability, keeping its publications in print and reasonably priced.
  • Sourcebooks In 1987, a determined Dominique Raccah left a promising career with advertising giant Leo Burnett, cashed in $17,000 from her 401K plan and launched a publishing house from her upstairs bedroom. She called it Sourcebooks. Today, Sourcebooks publishes titles in nearly every shape, size, format and subject. Its future is guided by its continuing commitment to reaching readers with books that will illuminate, inspire and enlighten their lives.
  • Unbridled Books Founded by Fred Ramey and Greg Michalson, Unbridled Books aspires to become a premier publisher of works of rich literary quality that appeal to a broad audience. Authors include Nancy Zafris, Edward Falco, Marc Estrin, and Masha Hamilton.
  • XOXOX Press Among the smallest of the small presses, XOXOX offers bright new titles from a talented group of hard-working writers. XOXOX' goal is to remain minimal while locating a deep audience. The publisher, based in KR's hometown of Gambier, Ohio, seeks "readers who read outside the lines—readers who read to grow, and writers who write for their own."
